What does the HSBC CHAPS transfer stand for?

CHAPS stands for Clearing House Automated Payment System and allows to make transfers within the UK quickly between banks in large amounts for a small commission. 

The transfer can be made in the HSBC online banking or mobile banking in the amount of up to 25 000 GBP, if more - you need to personally come to the HSBC branch (no HSBC chaps payment limit is applied there). 

The HSBC CHAPS fee is 17 GBP, and for premier clients for transfers within an HSBC group at the branch or over the phone – 12 GBP.GBP.
